I'm Jacob Gordon. I'm an entrepreneur, marketer, writer, advisor, board member, nonprofit development expert, and lifelong learner.
I started my career as an environmental journalist before going into technology, serving as co-founder and Chief Marketing Officer of Artiphon, a groundbreaking music technology company. I left the business world to support my Brooklyn community, working as the Development and Communications Director at The B.R.O. Experience Foundation, a new non-profit specializing in innovative mental wellness services for economically marginalized young men of color.
I also have experience in green real estate development, working with my family’s firm that owns and operates The Distillery in Boston, one of the city’s main artist live/work locations and one of the first multi-family Passive House developments in the country.
I occasionally do journalistic and academic writing, most recently publishing a chapter in a book from the SCORAI group on Routledge Press on the links between mindfulness and environmentally sustainable behaviors.
I have a BA in sociology from Bard College, studied business in the Bard MBA in Sustainability program (Princeton Review’s #1 MBA for green business and nonprofit management), and in 2025/2026 I am at the Harvard Kennedy School for a Master’s of Public Administration.
I was in the inaugural cohort of the Inner Development Goals Ambassador Program and attend the Summer Research Institute hosted by the Mind & Life Institute (co-founded by The 14th Dalai Lama).
In a previous incarnation I played country music in Nashville. I love photography (mostly analog, but feel free to ask me about the gummy bears), Buddhist practice (mostly Zen), and books on all manner of things.
Here’s my LinkedIn, my resume, and you can reach me here.
I’m currently based in Boston and am back in NYC often.
